What to do with Aadhaar, PAN, Voter ID and other official documents after death of holder

Here is a look at how to deal with different government official documents such as PAN, Aadhaar, passport etc. of someone who has passed away. How long are they supposed to keep these? Further, can they surrender these documents to the institutions governing and issuing them?
